Multiple baseball sources have confirmed that the longest-tenured player in Tampa Bay Rays history had a meeting with the Boston Red Sox’s. According to the report the Red Sox are interested in Crawford to shore up their weak outfield.
Crawford was a 4-time All-Star with the Tampa Bay Rays and earned $10 million in 2010 season. Last season he hit 19 home runs, stole 47 bases, drove in 90 RBIs, scored 110 runs, and had a batting average of .307. Reports are Carl is seeking an 8 year deal worth about $17 million per season.
In the back of my mind I still feel he is a better fit for the Angels roster. I hate to see him out on the open market but what can a small market do? They can’t afford to pay him what he is worth.
