Say hello to the FBI Cam and Cecil Newton!

The story has more twists and turns than space has stars! Now a man by the name of Bill Bell has come forward and said he received text messages from Rogers and Cecil Newton about a payment schedule. The payment schedule would be 3 installments varying between $50,000-$80,000, and would start the day after Cam Newton signed at the school. Now this news comes at quite a blow to the investigation into the added benefits Cam Newton received or if he did receive any money to play. I have said it before and I will say it again: Where there is smoke there is fire. Although Bill Bell did not have the text messages on his “new” phone they are however on his old cell phone which apparently went swimming. He is working with his service provider to retrieve the text messages, which if they are on the cellular device will not be too difficult to retrieve.

Also with the FBI starting to step up their investigation into the matter this case is only going to get dissected even farther. An attorney for John Bond, a former player at Mississippi State stated his client has been interviewed by the FBI. Now this part is very important for one part, the NCAA can’t subpoena anyone, but the FBI can! They will be able to pull all the facts from this case and individuals more quickly than the NCAA could ever hope to.

What this whole issue is going to boil down to is two things: 1.) does the NCAA want to pull another National Championship from a school and 2.) Does the board of trustees want to pull another Heisman from an athlete? The answer to both questions is no. Neither NCAA nor the Heisman board want to go through all the trouble and embarrassment, so anything they can do to prevent this situation from happening will be done.

There is just no possible way Cecil Newton did all of this without Cam Newton’s knowledge. Cam is going to play dumb until the facts of the story come out and then leave for the NFL. Auburn is still going to play Cam until they get smacked and potentially banned from college football by the NCAA. Cecil Newton is still going to preach at his church until he goes to jail on federal crimes for extortion.

We will have to just wait and see…..
